"You need to put air in your back tire today,it is lookin pretty low." say's my husband to me this morning as he prepared to leave for work.Sure enough I look out the kitchen window and there sits my van with a low back tire.
simple enough to remedy right?.........So I start my day off with a trip to the chiropractor, then to the bank, then to the gas station where(heavy sigh) $10.00 will not get me very far but its all I got....(heat begins to rise un-detected)....better get air b-for I forget........$.50!!!!!! YOU MUST BE JOKING!!!!well!, see if I buy gas at your establishment......
Station #2.....No Joke!!....not funny.....Pay money(I dont care how much or how little) for AIR!!!
, NOPE!!,Dont think so........temperature is steadily rising....
Station #3.......You guessed it!!....o.k.,I have one more chance at one more station before I get home, the last time I looked, there was no charge for air......
Station #4.....YEAH!!!...WOO HOO!!!
celebration HAPPY DANCE,free AIR....what do you know they are still in business everyone! And to all you gas station owners out there who charge money for the AIR that goes into a tire that may someday save someones LIFE!!.......SHAME ON YOU!!!!!! It cant possibly cost that much to run the flippin machine and I would,if in your shoes, consider it a CUSTOMER COURTESY and a PRIVILAGE to keep it maintenanced and in running order...FOR NO CHARGE TO THE CUSTOMER!!!
With gas prices where they are and most likely getting worse by the second, and in a day where families(like mine) as well as many others are living paycheck to paycheck, watching the prices climb, not only on gas but groceries now too,Do us all a favor and TAKE DOWN THE CASH BOX off of the air machine and at least try to do something nice for your customers!!!
And for all of you who are wondering, when I went in to Station #4,to pay my measly $10.00 for my measly 2,1/2 gallons of gas,I approached the attendant and the owner who were both standing behind the counter, and thanked them profusely, for not charging anything for the air.To which the owner replied..."free air??(jokingly)its not free cause it still costs me money to run it"...and I came right back with"that may be so, but I appreciate the courtesy was all I wanted to say"..."your welcome" he replied as I exited the building.
So the steam dissipates, the temperature comes back down to normal....do I suggest everyone get out their picket signs?.....Nah,just needed to vent.

Wtg , good thing you didn't need the rest room , TP prices are way up too. Don't tell to many of your friends about that free air, he might get an idea to start charging for high demand.
By the way , thank you hubby for noticing the tire, how many husbands do that? You are lucky to have an angle watching over you.
Very good post, I'm giving it a 2psi
The Grouch
Thanx, and your right he is an angel and I look forward to thanking him when he gets home
.
yep, thank goodness there is still one gas station that doesn't charge for air for your tires...there is only one around here like that...i felt your frustration reading this...glad that you finally got your tire taken care of.
Thanx,if only my back was as easy.I mentioned the chiropractor visit in my blog and saw my ex-rays (wince) not a pretty site.I suddenly had the picture of Jasmin in the movie Aladdin when she say's.."TWISTED" yeah,...that pretty much sums it up.It is gonna take several weeks of several adjustments to get me back in to action. So till I am back on my feet,Ya'll are stuck with me!!(now thats twisted!!)
There's only one gas station here in town where the air is free. There are a couple in and around town, though, that regard air as a worthy reward for patronage. Just as those who fill-up their tanks might be entitled to a free car wash, all people who purchase any amount of gas will be entitled to free air! But, everybody else has to pay. Now, isn't that just wonderful?
I supose free air at gas stations would be good, but there is a solution. When one of the kids ask you what can we get you both for an anniversary gift, say an air pump. If you get the type that you have to physically work, you get a leg work out too!
Yes, aint life grand?
to tvrvalentinesbaby, OOOHhhhhhhhhhh it makes my back hurt just thinkin about it. And a tire pump for anniversary??? Nope we asked for a cruise!!(its our 25th this Sept.)
I can't believe they would charge for air! The gas prices are so ridiculous I told my boys we were riding bikes everywhere this summer. Now if I can only handle the complaining about being too tired to ride up one more hill.
Cami
Can I tap in somehow to just a smidgen of your boy's energy?? I will ride along w/ you.
I am seriously considering getting a bike tho, just for trips into town and stuff.Time to go garage sale-in!!
The bike is the way to go. I love getting the extra bit of exercise too! We'll see how enthusiastic I am when it hits a hundred degrees.
Great idea to try the garage sales. I'm going to do that myself. My bike is a cheapo from Wally world. My friend's tease me that I look like a little kid on it!
