Well, the graduation cerimony was wonderful,my son found out a little too late that he was just a bit shy of recieving the first level of honor cords.I said it was o.k. cause now he knew at least he has the potential to make his college training count when he goes back.
The party was a huge success.we had some leftovers but not much and w/ two young men at home plus my hubby on vaca. and my parents here from out of town, plus all the visitors, girlfriends and such,we made fast work of the leftovers.
Tonight,my Army man is taking me to a Tigers game!!!this has become a tradition for me every year for my B-day,so he ordered good seats at Comerica(well, I really dont think there are any bad seats....)but just the two of us for tonight, then he is taking my hubby tomorow.I am so excited,I LOVE going to Comerica!!! and if they win.....all the better!!
While we are at the game, my hubby is taking our daughter down to Eastpoint for a singing competition called Gratiot Idol.I will keep you posted as to her progression. She is 8 months pregnant and so it's cute to see her singing some of these songs while trying not to draw attention to her belly
But she is very talented and good at what she does so she will just keep going.Tonight s contest is the semi-final round, then Saturday is the finals so I will let you know how she does and might even be able to get a recording possibly to add to my next post.
My little Army National Guard girl leaves today for down town briefing and then heads off to Fort Hood Texas for about 17 weeks of intense medical training. She is going to be a field medic, and is slowly getting more and more excited about her training and future. We are all gonna miss her terribly, but we send her off w/ LOADS of LOVE and prayers and encouragement, and I pray her time away from us and my son is quick, and enlightening.
Twill be interesting to see what the next chapter in our lives has to bring.
Signing off now,Thanx for reading

Happy Birthday, friend! Hope it was a great one!
What a great post! I sense a lot of happiness and pride in it! I hope you enjoyed the game, your birthday, the company of your loved ones, and shared in your daughter's excitement. I wish you and all of your family all the best! Oh, and Happy Birthday to you!
Thanx Faith,It really was GGGggggrrrreat!!!(The Tigers won!!!)
Thanx Donna,Well my daughter did not advance but I think it was just as well,my hubby said they got down there and there was NO seating at all and they had to stand around for 2 hours before actually getting to sing and then had to wait for the results which ended up being one of those competitions where your not quite sure what the judges were looking for.(She is almost 8,1/2 months now and swelling quite a bit so this was tough for her)Once again, the worst performances were the winners. We have experienced this before,so we just roll w/ the punches so to speak and just move on.Or as I like to say..."NEXT"!! she has other less stressful competitions and venues now till her delivery so she can relax a bit and just enjoy being a new mommy. She can look forward to "American Idol" auditions starting in August after the baby arrives. We also just found out the Army National Guard is sending my son-in-law home from Iraq for TWO WEEKS,for the babies delivery!!!YEAH!!!!! we are so happy!!
Well, it's mixed news about your daughter, but I think that even you will agree when I say that none of the mixed news is bad news.
And, that is great that your son-in-law will be home for the delivery! Now, that is wonderful news!
It has been officially confirmed,he begins out-proccessing on the 18th,and should be home around the 21st. The doctor said this morning that if she has'nt delivered by the 25th,(which is her due date)they will induce her labour on that day so Mom and Dad can have almost a full two weeks w/ baby till Dad goes back to Iraq.
Happy Birtday! Good luck to all your family too! Sounds like a lot of worthy endeavors!
