Wide Awake: part 2

June 6, 2008 / by bboocrew

Well I said I would keep you posted.......It's 1:06am,and I am once again WIDE AWAKE. However I am much closer to my goal(s).My oldest boy arrived safely home on Sat.last.   and I had the honor and privilage to sing the National Anthem for the opening ceremonies before the district baseball games for my youngest.(I was soooooooo nervous!!!!)anyways it went very well.

Tomorrow my youngest will walk accross a stage and accept his High School diploma. My parents arrived today, and are now all set up in their camper in my driveway, ready to help w/party prep.  I have enough food to feed an army, but I am surprisingly ready.......Knock on wood.on Wed. we spent all day cleaning the inside of the house, and I had flashbacks to when the kids were little and I had to learn that probably NO-ONE would ever clean my house the way I would, and when my kids would say they were done w/ their chores,I would inspect......then always suggest an improvement they could make, biting my tongue against saying "No , not like that,do it this way",in stead I just waited till they were'nt looking and fixed it myself,or I just moved on to the next item on the agenda for the day and the chores were accepted for what they were.I found myself incredibly grateful this week that theywere willing and responsible enough to actually help me out!!!

Thursday, they spent most of the day outside, working on the lawn and yard and windows(thanx Tracy!!) You were instrumental in seeing that job through all the way.helped g-pa set up camp, and such.

And so here I sit.........awake.........thinking about what lies ahead.......I think I am dozing off now,ttys.......zzzzzzzzzzzzzz

There is so much to anticipate and ENJOY going on right now...it really is an exciting and happy time.  Now, please, just really enjoy yourself and make it really a special experience for yourself and everybody else.  Everyone will appreciate your hard work, cleanliness, and preparations, but it's your company, the events, and the whole "happening" that will be most important and will become fond, happy memories.

WooHoo to you for singing the National Anthem!  You've got a lot more courage than I have...I would have been so nervous that my voice would have been nothing but a vibrato from all the nerves and shaking!  What an honor and you should be very proud of yourself and for the privilege of singing it!
